Responsibilities :
- Responsible to perform all therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care procedures ordered by the responsible physician; evaluates patients;
- maintains all required patient and department records; maintains and evaluates proper functioning of equipment when required;
- responsible for obtaining written physician orders pertaining to respiratory care; responsible for organizing and planning daily work assignments and notifying shift charge therapist of problems and missed procedures;
maintains professional knowledge of current respiratory care practice and department policy and procedures; responsible to practice job duties in accordance with department / Medical Center policy and procedure and the State of California Respiratory Care Act of 1982.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center.

Qualifications :
Graduate of Respiratory Therapist / Technician Program accredited by the AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or one supported by the Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education.
Meet all requirements for admission to the National Board for Respiratory Care Inc. Entry Level Certification Examination.
Certified by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) as specified in the Respiratory Care Practice Act of 1982
