  • PTO is provided to team members as a lump sum allowance, not an accrual. PTO is prorated based on your start date (see table below) on a quarterly basis (with tenure-based increases), 8.

Compensation

Our Compensation System is designed to reward remarkable work, grow your impact and support the whole you over the course of your career.

We believe in paying people fairly, so we've established a compensation model aimed to ensure everyone at Fearless regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, nationality, or negotiation skills is given equal pay for equal work.

Our approach to compensation is intended to ensure our total package serves all of your needs and includes base pay, medical and other benefits, performance rewards, 401k matching, plus a few perks (tech and wellness reimbursement programs)! Our salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location and provide team members salary growth within a salary grade over time.

Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position).

Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.

  • AL, FL, GA, TN Residents : $112,915 (min) - $146,789 (mid) - $180,664 (max)
  • NC Residents : $116,407 (min) - $151,329 (mid) - $186,251 (max)
  • DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents : $122,227 (min) - $158,896 (mid) - $195,564 (max)
  • DC Residents : $137,360 (min) - $178,568 (mid) - $219,776 (max)
  • CA, NY, NJ Residents : $142,016 (min) - $184,621 (mid) - $227,226 (max)

What you’ll be doing :

The Data Engineer is responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining scalable tooling and infrastructure for managing data in a system.

This includes building automated data pipelines, managing data storage, and creating systems to make data available to users.

The Data Engineer also supports the team by performing tasks like data analysis, interpretation, extraction, formatting, labeling, cleaning, transformation, reduction, discretization, annotation, loading and processing.

Responsibilities And Contributions

Organizational and Leadership Role

  • Coach teams on how to properly make decisions with data.
  • Be an advocate for best practices and continued learning.
  • Takes initiative for their own growth through personal leadership.

Functional Role

  • Designs and implements internal processes for automating data delivery and optimization.
  • Builds and maintains secure tooling and infrastructure for scalable automated data pipelines and machine learning models that align with business needs.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Collaborates with Data Scientists and Business Analysts to improve data models that solve problems and support data-driven decision making.
  • Supports regular ad-hoc data and analysis needs to better understand customer behaviors.
  • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality and volume, ensuring data is accurate and available.
  • Performs analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
  • Evaluates data ingestion, data analysis and machine learning tools for efficacy.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.
  • Evaluates existing data systems to improve data quality and governance.

Must-Have Skills

Essential Skills, Experience, or Competencies

  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated directly related working experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large digital delivery projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience and high proficiency with AWS (Redshift is highly desired).
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise with Cloudwatch.
  • Ability to obtain required security clearance for this project : Public Trust.
  • Current or prior working experience in government contracting space.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning Tools and Software.
  • Experience in statistics, data processing, or data annotation.
  • Understanding of quality assurance with respect to data and models.
  • Proficiency with programming languages including Python, R, SAS, and / or Java.
  • Experience working with at least one data analysis tool like Hadoop, Apache Spark, or cloud-provider equivalents.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to communicate insights extracted from the data.
  • Ability to understand and respond to customer needs and collaborate as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, and build relationships and influence others.

Preferred Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years working directly / closely with Azure infrastructure.
  • A minimum of 2 years working directly / closely with Databricks, Postgres SQL, Power BI.
  • BS in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technology-related degree.
