Virtual Special Education Teacher

Location : Oregon, USA (Remote)

Job Type : Virtual School Year Contract

Pay : $33+ / Hour

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to effectively support students with diverse learning needs in a virtual setting.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring that instructional strategies and accommodations are tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
• Deliver virtual instruction to students with disabilities using a variety of instructional techniques and resources, including synchronous and asynchronous methods.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to students with disabilities, including academic, social, and emotional support, to facilitate their learning and development.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure that students with disabilities receive appropriate accommodations and modifications in the virtual learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to support individual student growth and achievement.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' strengths, needs, and progress in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, attendance, and services provided in compliance with special education laws and regulations.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents / guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support.
• Collaborate with school administrators and support staff to ensure a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment for all students.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid Special Education teaching license / certification in the state of Oregon.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a special education teacher, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and technology tools to deliver instruction and support students.
• Ability to adapt instruction and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students of all abilities.
