The Head of Civil, Piping and Equipment Engineer roleeads and manages a group of departments which provide engineering, design and support services for investment projects and production operations, covering the subject matter areas of CSA (Civil, Structural, & Architectural), Piping and Equipment Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads a group of departments of engineers, designers and specialists, ensuring the successful staffing, planning and execution of Evonik investment projects across the Evonik North America region.
- Oversees the operation and performance of the departments against budget plans and targets related to safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensures high performance of the departments with regard to safety, efficiency, and quality while meeting all requirements and timelines of multiple concurrent projects and support activities.
- Monitors, develops and improves business practices and processes, formulating and implementing new ones as needed to match organizational strategies and objectives.
- Monitors, develops and improves development and qualification management processes for all managers and employees of the departments group.
- Provides reporting managers and other employees throughout the department group with coaching and mentoring in support of their professional development.
REQUIREMENTS
- University / Post Graduate (Masters Degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer certification strongly preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of design and engineering standards, applicable code requirements, and Computer-Aided Engineering tools relevant to the disciplines covered by these departments.
- 15 or more years of engineering experience, including 5 or more years experience in a leadership position.
- 5 or more years of experience working within an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) firm preferred.
