POSITION SUMMARY
This position aims to meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. In addition, the director’s responsibilities include developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans.
Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve financial targets. Sales director duties will include hitting annual targets, building relationships, and understanding customer trends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages the business and drives customer engagement by coordinating sales support activities and working closely with other business units and account managers
- Works closely with the Regional Vice President and others to coordinate and execute strategic sales and account development activities
- Works cross-functionally with the sales and marketing support teams to achieve customer initiatives and business priorities
- Attend and document discussions at relevant customer meetings
- Perform ad-hoc tasks when required to meet the needs of the business
- Create and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports to management
- Own and hit / exceed sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
- Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
- Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
- Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proven sales executive experience, meeting, or exceeding targets
- Developing and executing a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
- Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
- Proven ability to position products against competitors
- Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must be organized, focused, and a motivated leader and self-starter
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce CRM
- BA / BS degree or equivalent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years experience in sales, sales operations, sales training / enablement
- Understanding of professional selling and sales enablement best practices
- Ability to promote a solution rather than simply a product
- Engaging team players who can influence and motivate others while building a broad, inclusive network
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and can establish open, collaborative communication channels with colleagues
- Understands the changing needs of the sales environment, buyer journey, and market demands to enable sellers
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Strong understanding of business content and how to apply it to business issues and problems
- Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and metrics management
