PURPOSE :
To effectively maintain and service all small engine and other equipment for the company which provides for a more efficient operation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Repair and maintain equipment including, but not limited to : 1- Small engine equipment IE generators, roof cutters, roof warriors, etc.
and; 2 - Small equipment IE roofing heat welders, induction welders, power hand tools, etc.
- Clean, refinish, and refurbish equipment as directed.
- Complete all repairs with the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Stand behind your work; follow the green tag process and sign your name in ink for every repair you complete.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all employees requesting equipment and assistance.
- Maintain a safe / clean work environment.
- Own personal hand tools required to complete your job.
- Abide by all EPA, safety, and other applicable regulations.
- Willing and able to quickly learn best practices and techniques to repair equipment.
- Willing and able to teach others and help them learn how to improve their mechanic skills.
- Load and unload material and equipment as required.
- Safely use a forklift and other equipment.
- Have a proactive approach towards resolving problems.
- Ability and willingness to complete all duties as assigned and meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Clear, concise communication among your team and all project stakeholders using phone, email, text, or other means as required.
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts and overtime as required.
- Be an ideal team player and provide the BEST service possible to whomever you are serving and working with.
- Utilize software / technology as assigned to perform your job functions.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KEY RESULTS :
- Accomplish duties and tasks within time frame assigned.
- Repair and maintain all equipment with the highest quality standards. 0 in-field failures due to mechanic error.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :
- High school diploma or equivalent, vocational school certificate of completion
- More than 3 years’ experience repairing and maintaining small engine and other powered equipment required; automotive mechanic experience preferred.
- Ability to safely move material more than 50lbs and to work with other employees for team lifts.
- Ability to safely use a forklift; valid certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history to operate company vehicles as required. CDL with demonstrable experience with roll-offs, high lifts, etc. preferred.
- Bilingual English / Spanish highly preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Sense of urgency : all tasks must be completed with a high priority / sense of urgency while you personally ensure the highest safety, quality, and productivity.
