Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is a private member-owned club, recognized as a Platinum Club® of America, located in the Town of Orchid, just north of Vero Beach, and beautifully situated on 600 acres from the ocean to the river.

Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is seeking a Nail Specialist . You will be afforded the ideal opportunity to put your nail care services to work in a beautiful environment and friendly atmosphere, which is just steps away from the white sand beach and the Audubon-certified golf course designed by the legend, Arnold Palmer.

Nail Specialist Position Overview

This position provides a range of nail care services including manicures, pedicures, nail extensions, and nail art with precision and creativity, while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workstation and equipment and adhering to the strictest sterilization protocols.

Must be able to engage member clients in a friendly and professional manner, understanding and fulfilling their specific nail care needs, while staying up to date with the latest nail trends and techniques and offering innovative services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize tools and work environment, maintaining the standards of sterilization and sanitation as directed by Orchid Island.
• Apply undercoat and clear or colored polish onto nails with brush.
• Maintain supply inventories and records of client services.
• Shape and smooth ends of nails, using scissors, files, or emery boards.
• Prepare nail cuticles with water and oil, using cuticle knives to push back cuticles and scissors or nippers to trim cuticles.
• Prepare member client's nails in soapy water, using swabs, files, and orange sticks.
• Remove previously applied nail polish, using liquid remover and swabs.
• Schedule member client next appointments.
• Assess the condition of clients' hands and remove dead skin.
• Massage hands, arms, legs, and feet.
• Advise clients on nail care and use of products and colors.
• Treat nails to repair or improve strength and resilience by wrapping.
• Promote and sell nail care products and promote other spa services, treatments, and upcoming and current specials.
• Practice safe work habits and routines in order to avoid injury.

Education, Experience, & Requirements

• State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Cosmetology license.
• Proven experience in providing exceptional nail care services.
• Passionate about delivering high quality work and going above and beyond for our member clients.
• Strong knowledge of nail products and trends in the industry.
• Exceptional attention to cleanliness and sanitation practices.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Pay range is between $28-$53 / hr depending on type of service delivered.
