Segment Data Office Senior Analyst

Summary :

The Segment Data Office Senior Analyst works in partnership with our Chief Data & Architecture Office and acts as the execution arm of data governance and management within a business segment.

This position is responsible for supporting the identification and management of critical data elements, including the associated data quality, metadata, lineage, and reference data, ensuring the data produced by the segment is fit for purpose for both regulatory and management reporting, supporting the prioritization of data and analytics-related issues and needs, and supporting the data literacy within a business segment.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Strategically assess and prioritize investments to evolve the Commercial Data Strategy, enhancing the bank's data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Lead a team of strategy analysts
• Collaborate with the Chief Data Architecture Office (CDAO) to progress towards our data architecture targets.
• Communicate progress to leadership and influence to gain support
• Design a robust scorecard framework to track strategic progress.
• Work across application owners and SDAs to score each application
• Engage with stakeholders to review results, integrate data strategies with overarching business roadmaps, and resolve backlogs.
• Oversee data improvement projects
• Champion the data strategy across the commercial segment to promote alignment
• Spearhead initiatives to improve data literacy across the Commercial Bank
• Publish a quarterly data newsletter to highlight initiatives and achievements within the Data Office
• Uphold and enhance data quality standards, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Be a trusted partner across the Commercial bank
• Serves as a subject matter expert, within their Business Segment.
• Assists in driving effective data management and governance practices and ensure adherence to the Data Policy and standards;

participates in change management practices.

• Participates in the prioritization of data analytics-related issues and needs.
• Works closely with the Segment Data Manager and team, Data Trustees & Curators, and technology partners across the data lifecycle.
• Dedicated to the ongoing improvement of data quality within the business segment.
• Manages the certification of data for regulatory and management reporting.
• Identifies Critical Data Elements (CDEs), performs data profiling of CDEs, and determines root cause analysis for CDEs that are outside thresholds.
• Manages segment-specific reference data.
• Ensures metadata, business definitions and lineage are mapped into the enterprise-wide tool.
• Manages the inventory of data-related controls on systems that support segment processes and customers.
• Has some knowledge of the legal, compliance, and regulatory issues impacting data.
• Partners with the CDAO Data Literacy team to implement literacy efforts within the segment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree
• 10+ years relevant experience including 3+ years of hands-on data experience including data management, data quality, and / or data governance

• Versed on industry best practices, tools, techniques, and frameworks for data management and governance
• Knowledgeable of data management and governance policies, standards, metrics, controls, and processes
