Government Operations Consultant II (GOCII)

This position will be part of the Southeast Region (SER) Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency (OESS) Program. This is an independent and complex professional consultative position in Resource, Data, and Finance Management.

This position provides operational, data management, and coordinative assistance in the Office of Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS-ACCESS Florida) Program areas.

This position conducts studies and evaluations of organizational performance data and provides assistance that may help the organization to operate more efficiently and effectively.

The position will be housed in Fort Lauderdale, FL but will be responsible for travel throughout the Region.This position is Full Time Career Service and will be reporting to the ESS Program Director.

Annual Salary : $44,060. Internal salary appointments are determined according to DCF Salary policy

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for the position, an applicant must have an associate’s degree, or 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college, or equivalent professional experience where the major responsibility was operational, data management or coordinative assistance on a full time basis.

This experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the required education.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Provides reporting assistance to ESS Senior Leaders, Program Office and Administration regarding the need for information (data) retrieval.

Responsible for data extraction that provides statistical and caseload information identifying statewide and / or Regional program participation and programmatic problems regarding operations and / or application of policies and procedures.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Senior Management, program office, peers, and community service partners and organizations in the region.

Identifies and maintains working knowledge of available community resources, in conjunction with the our other programs in the region, Community Development Administrators and Community Partner Liaisons.

Analysis and Monitoring - Recommends and initiates quality improvement strategies and quality control. Works with staff to identify error trends.

Acts as a facilitator for quality improvement efforts. Analyzes data from all levels of monitoring including qualitative and quantitative data.

Prepares reports and presentations. Monitors and evaluates operational outcomes. Assists with operational planning and service delivery.

  • Provides assistance to administrators and program managers by integrating data from varied sources into single database structures used in programmatic evaluation and monitoring.
  • Collects and analyzes data on outcomes to identify and refine referral choices. Participates in strategic planning and quality improvement processes.

Actively participates in ongoing cross-program training and team meetings. Provides assistance on special projects as assigned.

Informs management of issues, concerns, and problems.

EXAMPLES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of ACCESS programs, policy, and operations.
  • Knowledge of ACCESS technology and systems used for eligibility determination for public assistance benefits, administrative requirements, and informational needs.
  • Knowledge of Sequel and Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software as needed.
