Industrial Inspection & Analysis is hiring an API Technician in the Pacific Northwest to join our Facility Services group and growing API Inspection team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures, laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Own personal and overall job site safety stopping the job if required due to unsafe conditions or lack of compliance to quality requirements.
  • Perform pre-job preparations of equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope.
  • Work with a team of NDT Technicians to perform day-to-day and routine safety observations and inspections.
  • Perform post-job equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope for the completed work and future work scheduled / planned.
  • Complete applicable job reports and other paperwork as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understand mechanical concepts and spatial relationships.
  • Understand basic physical NDT principles, processes, and limitations.
  • Experience with MT / PT / UT / PAUT / CWI preferred.
  • Knowledge in industry standards and recommended practices.
  • Must have strong reporting skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Must be able to communicate technical requirements and deliverables clearly and concisely.

Licensing / Certification

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Current API 510, API 570, and / or API 653 certifications required.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work varying hours and varying days of the week.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites (60 85%)
  • Must be able to work in varying working environments ranging from an indoor office / laboratory environment to an outdoor oil field to power plant to other industrial facilities.
  • The position may occasionally be exposed to acetone, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic and / or caustic chemicals.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and / or push up to 50 lbs.
  • Must meet vision requirements for the job, including near vision, color vision, and depth perception.
