Gibbs School, Arlington, MA
This position is a grade 6 Technology / Engineering teaching position. Design challenges, directly linked to the Science / Technology Engineering State Frameworks are given to the students to explore the following Technologies : Transportation, Construction, Manufacturing, and Communication.
The program is considered a model Tech / Engineering / Design program.
This individual should be enthusiastic, energetic, and willing to utilize / implement project based learning and critical and creative thinking skills into a very hands-on, instructional-technology rich environment.
An understanding of or willingness to learn the science concepts behind each challenge is important. The position requires collaborate daily with the other members of the department on curriculum development, assessment, instructional strategies, and modifications.
Qualifications :
1. (preferred) Licensed in Technology / Engineering, or Middle School Science.
2. Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies through readings, discussions, coursework and conferences.
