Global EHS Manager at Stanadyne
Position Summary :
The Global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the environmental, health, and safety programs across all manufacturing facilities worldwide.
This role ensures compliance with local, national, and international regulations while driving a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainability.
The Global EHS Manager will work closely with regional EHS teams, plant managers, and executive leadership to create and maintain safe working environments and to minimize the company’s environmental impact.
Global Key Responsibilities :
EHS Program Development : Develop and implement global EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Continuously evaluate and improve these programs to address emerging risks and opportunities.
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations across all manufacturing sites.
Monitor changes in legislation and update company policies and procedures as necessary.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation : Conduct risk assessments at all facilities to identify potential hazards. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
- Training and Development : Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, ongoing safety training, and specialized training for high-risk activities.
Ensure that all employees understand and adhere to EHS policies and procedures.
Incident Investigation : Lead investigations of EHS incidents, including near-misses, accidents, and environmental spills.
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
EHS Audits : Conduct regular EHS audits of manufacturing facilities to assess compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Prepare audit reports and work with local management teams to address any findings.
- Sustainability Initiatives : Develop and promote sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s environmental footprint, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and recycling programs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting : Collect and analyze EHS data from all sites to identify trends, measure performance, and report on key metrics to senior management.
Use data-driven insights to guide EHS initiatives and improvements.
- Crisis Management : Develop and maintain emergency response plans for all facilities. Provide leadership during EHS emergencies, coordinating with local authorities and ensuring the safety of employees and the community.
- Leadership and Collaboration : Provide guidance and support to regional EHS teams and plant managers. Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
- Budget Management : Develop and manage the global EHS budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support EHS initiatives and compliance efforts.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CEM) is preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a global or multi-site role.
- Strong Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and overall Maintenance concepts.
- Experience with ISO / TS standards including 9000 and 14000 platforms a plus.
- Experience in computer applications relevant to Facility, Building and Maintenance and repair. Stays up to date for compliance.
Skills :
- Strong knowledge of global EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS programs across multiple locations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS audits.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
Travel :
Willingness to travel internationally up to 20 - 30% of the time to visit manufacturing sites and support EHS initiatives.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to loud noises, temperature variations, and potential hazards.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions :
- The role requires flexibility to work across different time zones and may involve occasional evening or weekend work.
