Position Summary
The Career Readiness Learning Objectives for this position are :
- Communication : The student worker will communicate in a clear and organized manner via email, via telephone, via chat, and in person to understand and effectively respond to request for data / information;
- Technology : The student worker will use institutional technology to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data / information;
- Critical Thinking : The student worker will find, generate, and collect data / information from various sources to respond to data / information requests;
- Professionalism : The student worker will stay in compliance with the confidentiality contract. The student worker will check their work and their communication to ensure accuracy, correctness, and clarity.
The Institutional Research, Assessment, & Analytics (IRAA) Office supports the university by providing data, information, and analysis to various colleagues and offices to assist them with reaching their operational and strategic goals.
This can include providing data on enrollment and retention trends; completing external data requests; assisting with compliance reporting for state, federal, and accreditation agencies;
and responding of inquiries about institutional data points.Work tasks may include :
- Requesting data and information from internal offices;
- Assisting with collection of data from external sources :
- Entering data into spreadsheets, databases, or systems;
- Combining, merging, recoding, reformatting, and manipulating data and data files;
- Analyzing data or information to find trends, patterns, relationships, etc.;
- Creating visualizations such as graphs and tables;
- Completing external request for institutional data / information.
Required Qualifications
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong organizing skills
- Effective communication in English both verbally and in writing
- Efficient internet search / browsing skills
- Experience using mid-level functionality in Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Scripting experience
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications
