Job Summary

CCRI’s Department of Dental Health invites applicants for future adjunct positions. This posting is not for an immediate vacancy but for upcoming opportunities.

The Dental Health Programs prepare students as dental professionals who have the skills required to be competent members of the dental care team, deliver quality dental health care to the public, have the knowledge to pass national licensure and certification examinations and are committed to professional development through life-long learning.

The Dental Health Department is looking for dynamic, skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. Dental Health adjunct faculty demonstrate competence in clinical skills, lecture and lab instruction and responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Dental Health Programs and the College.

Duties and Responsibilities Commitment to CCRI’s Mission :

Instructional Skills :

  • Plan, develop, present, and modify courses from proposal, to syllabus, to delivery (classroom, hybrid, or online), to assessment, to evaluation
  • Teach assigned courses
  • Convey knowledge and skills effectively to students
  • Continue professional development as an educator
  • Use advanced technologies to expand student resources and learning opportunities
  • Assess student learning according to best practices in measurement of student performance objectives and outcomes
  • Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in pedagogical approaches to a diverse population of students and peers
  • Dental Hygiene preclinical, clinical, laboratory and didactic teaching
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing academic support to students and provide remediation as needed
  • Participate in accreditation activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical dental hygiene experience
  • Current Rhode Island dental / dental hygiene license and permit to administer local anesthesia is required. Candidates that are eligible for licensure will be considered
  • Current certification in CPR at the Health care Provider level

Competencies

  • Previous teaching experience at a CODA accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
  • CDA Certified Dental Assistant

Reports To Department Chair Campus Location Primarily located at the Lincoln Campus Full-time / Part-time Part-Time Shift, Days, and Additional Work Schedule Information Up to 8.
