Clinical Tech - Emergency Services
St. John's Hospital Camarillo
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Teach to join our healthcare team. As a Clinical Tech you will be responsible for providing support to healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring the smooth operation of medical equipment, and assisting in patient care.
Responsibilities :
Demonstrates competency in performing crutch fitting based on size.
Demonstrates successful application of arm sling for both adult and pediatric patients
Demonstrates competency in therapeutically bandaging arms, legs with ace bandages.
Demonstrates competency in performance, ordering and documentation of EKG's.
Demonstrates competency in the procedure of phlebotomy according to hospital standards.
Order lab work, respiratory orders, and EKG's via patient care system appropriately and successfully.
Performs daily stockroom supply check to ensure adequate stock for patient care.
Partners with nursing, medical and respiratory staff to assist in the performance of patient procedures (i.e. gastric lavage, stabilizing extremities for suturing, etc.).
Greeting patients. on arrival, writes time of arrival, pt. name and general complaint on log sheet.
Assists patients into wheelchairs if indicated.
Assists with traffic control for patients and families entering main ER doors.
Alerts housekeeping if the waiting room needs cleaning.
Qualifications :
Current AHA BLS Certification (CT CPRBLS)
Current Phlebotomist Certification (CT CPT)
Six (6) months recent hospital experience as a CNA CT or EMT (CT NA) (CT CT) (CT EMT)
Preferred Requirements :
Successful completion of Clinical Technician Program or related work experience.
Special Skills :
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing clearly concisely and accurately.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to operate common office equipment including computers.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
This position is represented by SEIU - UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
