We are searching for an experienced Systems Administrator / NE to join our Network Engineering Team to assists with the firm’s Cisco Unified Communications VoIP telephone system, which includes Call Manager, Unity, Presence, Expressway, Analog voice gateways, SIP Trunks, and Third-party hardware and software integrations.
Specifically, supporting and resolving tier 1-2 end-user VOIP trouble tickets, speaking with them directly over the phone.
This position will also include assisting the Network Engineering team with supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, on LANs, WANs, Servers, and data center and cloud (Azure) environments.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing secure, scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor, dispatch, respond, and resolve tier 1-2 service requests and know when to escalate issues to ensure prompt resolution.
- Monitor, research, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of systems software and tools associated with VoIP, Unified Communications, and VoIP programs.
- Conduct continuous maintenance tasks associated with the administration of Cisco VoIP, voice mail, and telephony systems.
- Assist with new telephony system integration and upgrades, including installation and configuration requirements needed for office expansions, relocations, system enhancement additions, etc.
- Manage and administer end-user accounts relative to voicemail properties, and access to public folder services.
- Liaise with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate installation, upgrades, modifications, and training of telephony hardware and software equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Manage our hybrid Microsoft Exchange environment.
- Configure and install various MS Windows / VMWare servers (, file / print, Exchange, etc.)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
- Monitor performance and ensure system stability, availability, and reliability.
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Provide Level-2 / 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes.

- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Have proven hands-on experience managing : Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD, Microsoft Office365 and Azure, Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange Online, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, and DNS.
- Be proficient in managing with PowerShell.
- Be conscious of security when designing and implementing solutions.
- Have experienced with Proofpoint’s mail firewall and other security solutions, but not required.
- Have experience with Zscaler security solutions, but not required.
- Possess a solid understanding of networking protocols, and the OSI or TCP / IP model.
- Have experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Have current certification by Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or others, but not required.
- Have a University degree in Computer Science or a related subject, or at least the equivalent number of years in professional experience.
