Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work 1 : 1 with client receiving ABA therapy
- Implement behavior acquisition programs
- Implement behavior reduction protocols
- Collect and record data for ABA programming and behaviors
- Accurately complete daily notes by the end of all sessions
- Communicate professionally with BCBAs, team members, caregivers, and supports
- Attend scheduled sessions and supervision sessions with BCBA
- Maintain professional work environment and boundaries
- Follow RBT Ethics Standards found on the BACB website
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Must have RBT certification completed with 30 days of hire
- Previous experience with children with developmental disabilities
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, and / or Applied Behavior Analysis
- Comfortable working with children that display problem behaviors
- Must be able to pass a local and level 2 background check
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask
- Be a team player
- Self-motivated
- Able to ask for help from supervisors / support team when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related field
- Pursuing board certification in behavior analysis
- 1-year of experience as a behavior technician, RBT, or ABA therapist
