Description
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Shipfitters for projects located in and around San Diego, CA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $41 / hour based on experience & skill level.

Job Scope :
Assemble, cut, & grind metal structural parts to include plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles, & come-along
Align parts in relation to each other
Tack & welds foundation & structural members
Perform lay out work according to blueprints or preference lines
Mark location of holes to be drilled
Drive wedges & install temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements :
2+ Years of Experience
Knowledge of Blueprint Reading
Knowledge of Ship Terminology & different metals
Good Burning, Welding, & Craftsmanship Skills
Mechanically Ability Preferred
T1 Welding Certification Required for FCAW, Flux core, SMAW, Stick, etc.
Shipfitter Test
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to work in confined spaces
Safety Awareness
Must have OSHA 10 Maritime & Firewatch Certification
Background Check & Drug Screen
