Litigation Paralegal

Ardelle Associates is seeking a Paralegal to support the Department of Justice (DOJ), U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) in Oklahoma City, OK.

The ideal candidate for the position in the Financial Litigation Program should have at least two years of litigation paralegal experience, with a strong background in civil practice, including discovery support or financial collection experience.

Additionally, at least one year of experience in automated litigation support is preferred.

DUTIES

• Reviewing financial assets and transactions, analyzing debtor information, and assessing their ability to pay their judgment debt.
• Initiating contact with debtors to negotiate payment schedules and ensure successful debt collection.
• Conducting skiptracing activities to locate debtors when necessary.
• Reviewing and reconciling debt collection records.
• Independently performing all functions to collect amounts imposed as a result of criminal cases.
• Communicating with debtors to present payment options, answer questions, and resolve cases.
• Preparing payment plans based on debtor's financial information.
• Reviewing and analyzing claims for legal merit and compliance with the Federal Debt Collection Procedures Act.
• Providing technical processing activities for debt collection.
• Preparing letters, forms, and reports to initiate debt collection.
• Reviewing, evaluating, and verifying debtor account status and payment transactions.
• Entering and tracking financial data in automated systems.
• Evaluating debt collection documents for accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
• Crosschecking payment transactions with court records.
• Working closely with supervisors or AUSAs to make recommendations on settlements, write-offs, and liquidations of judgments.
• Preparing documentation for legal actions and participating in decisions on post-judgment remedies.
• Providing legal support to AUSAs in financial litigation matters.
• Preparing legal documents, conducting research, and listing references in briefs or legal documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

o Candidates with experience in civil / financial litigation may be given special consideration.

o At least two years of litigation paralegal experience required.

o Civil practice, including discovery support or financial collection experience is very helpful.

Job Types : Full-time, Contract

Pay : $25.43 - $29.84 per hour

Expected hours : 40 per week

Schedule :

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
