Biomedical Research Grant Writer (Remote Position)

Ochsner Clinic Foundation
New Orleans, LA, US
Remote
Full-time

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.

We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters.

Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

Join us at Ochsner Health and become part of the team that is reimagining healthcare for the future. In a newly created role, straddling innovationOchsner (iO) and the Ochsner Research department, you will develop grant proposals to support cutting-edge research in clinical medicine, artificial intelligence, and healthcare redesign, among other topics.

At innovationOchsner (iO), we leverage technology in novel ways in order to improve the lives of healthcare professionals, patients, and our community.

We provide advanced, data-driven tools to transform care delivery while enhancing quality and patient experience. The impact we have sets a model for healthcare systems nationwide.

As part of iO and Research, you will work with renowned physician-scientists to develop and submit proposals and grant applications to federal and non-federal funding agencies.

You will perform comprehensive literature reviews to understand the context in which research is being proposed, imbue your proposals with a rich understanding of that context, and then ensure that each grant proposal has all the requisite elements for success.

In collaboration with the research teams, you will take grant applications through every step of the process, including completing forms, providing attestations, and developing thoughtful budget and project plans.

As a trained scientist yourself, you will have the opportunity to actively shape and in some cases participate in the research being proposed.

You will also seek out new suitable funding sources or research initiatives that jibe with the capabilities and interests of the Ochsner research community.

One look at our own Ochsner Journal reveals that our research spans the gamut from bench to clinical to population health.

Our researchers tackle a rich array of topics, such as health equity, the ethical use or artificial intelligence, and the growing chronic disease crises affecting the people of Louisiana and the United States.

As a grant writer here, your work will propel these efforts forward.
