POSITION PROFILE :
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the dining experience at Pursell Farms. Responsibilities include providing exceptional guest service, maintaining revenue and profitability goals and presenting the highest quality of production in the service of food and beverages.
The Food and Beverage Manager will also be responsible for the hiring, training and ongoing coaching of staff. They will strive to model the Pursell Farms core values in the completion of their work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION :
- Coordinate and manage Front of the House and Back of the House service
- Ensure superior guest service and satisfaction at all times
- Respond efficiently and effectively to guest special requests, needs or concerns
- Organize, schedule and supervise staff on each shift
- Coach and train staff on an ongoing basis and provide continuous feedback to improve performance
- Control operational costs and suggest ways to continue to cut waste
- Oversee Bar Management including extensive knowledge of wines and spirits
- Prepare weekly and other written reports and documentation
- Serve as an Ambassador for the restaurant and the Farm at professional meetings and in the community
- Recommend ways to attract broader audiences and new customers
- Implement and enforce all policies and procedures
- Assist the Food & Beverage Director as requested
- Perform all other duties as needed
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
- High school graduate or equivalent GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management preferred
- Advanced knowledge of wines and spirits require
- At least five years of related experience in an upscale food establishment or resort
S kills and Abilities :
- Demonstrated knowledge of high end restaurant service required
- Ability to successfully manage and motivate a team of servers and support staff
- Advanced knowledge of cooking terminology and techniques as well as proper service techniques
- Familiarity with restaurant software programs
- Sound business acumen and management principles to ensure strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership as well as utilization of people and resources
- Ability to communicate clearly, organize functions and establish priorities consistent with the department objective
