Job Title : Cardiology Clinical Research Nurse
Job Description
The Clinical Research Nurse will be responsible for rendering patient care services to patients on research protocols approved through the local IRB.
Major roles include those of practitioner, researcher, educator, and consultant demonstrating skills in specific disease management nursing, data management, physical assessment skills, leadership ability, and communication skills.
Responsibilities involve :

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Coordinate and perform clinical procedures during research visits (i. e., vital signs, blood draws, EKGs, drug administration, and other clinical activities as necessary and capable) in conjunction with appropriate training / certification and following hospital policy.
Assist clinical staff responsible for research patient visits to complete the research requirements.
2. Review and verify subject eligibility based on study inclusion / exclusion criteria.
3. Identify, recruit, and screen potential clinical study participants.
4. Obtain informed consent from patients in coordination with the Investigator.
5. Lead the clinical research team in the identification, evaluation, and reporting of all adverse events and severe adverse events.
6. Support the team in obtaining and disseminating accurate clinical information essential for completing Case Report Forms (CRF).
7. Synthesize clinical knowledge with protocol requirements to foster informed, protocol-compliant decision-making in the best interest of patient safety and in coordination with the investigator.
Modify treatments as per protocol.
8. Assure that all federal, state, local, and hospital laws and regulations are adhered to, as they relate to the protection of human subjects and to research compliance.
9. Provide backup coverage for other clinical studies when necessary (travel to other sites may be required).
10. Facilitate industry-sponsored pre-study / initiation visits and provide sponsor monitors with required site information.
11. Secure patient records and source documentation for sponsor monitoring and internal / external site audits.
12. Obtain and maintain database access. Enter data as needed.
13. Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures and immediately report any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee, patient, visitor injury, or accident to the assigned Manager.
Hard Skills
Licensed nurse in the state of Georgia
1+ year cardio experience in healthcare setting
Clinical trial experience (preferred)
Interventional cardiology lab experience
Cardiovascular ICU experience
Electro Physiology lab experience

This is a fully on-site position.
Work Environment
Hub Coverage" - Employee will be tied to one main location but will float around to offices within the hub. Will receive office schedule a week in advance.
Offices are typically close together, but could result in a commute up to 30-40 minutes between locations.
Hub Coverage Office Breakdown :
- Gwinnett Hub (Lawrenceville) : will cover 3 sites
- Forsyth Hub (Cumming) : will cover 3 sites
- Cherokee Hub (Canton) : will cover 3 sites
Full time - 40 hours a week, onsite
Monday-Friday
7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM
Small teams reside in each office.
