Job Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to provide technical support, maintenance, and repair services for our client food automation equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer service.
This is a direct hire position based out of Lake Forest, IL and will involve travel;.
Pay : $35-40 / hr
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair food automation equipment at customer sites.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with engineering and support teams to address complex technical problems.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all service activities.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in food automation equipment.
- Travel to customer locations as required to perform service duties.
- Travel 60 to 70% mostly domestic with International travel on occasion
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role, preferably in the automation or food processing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and passport with the ability to travel frequently.
