Job Description : Pharmacy Technician - Float

General Summary : Dispense prescription drugs to patients and assist in the preparation and charging of medications and supplies under the supervision of the pharmacist. Provide quality patient care and excellent customer service. Processes, enters and interprets physician orders focusing on either infusion pharmacy or specialty retail pharmacy. Follow departmental procedures with regard to inventory control, claims submission and other administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include :

• Allocated to Infusion or Retail Pharmacies within CHC locations to fulfill staffing ratios and ensure standards are met.
• Required to float to all CHC locations, except Roseville Michigan Cancer Specialists.
• Required to work 40 hour work week at various locations.
• Actual work time of shifts may be adjusted by Pharmacy Management to balance shift time with travel time.
• Required to have reliable transportation.
• If assigned temporary long-term placement at a clinic, clinic will be temporary home site until assignment ends.
• Pharmacy Management will inform the Technician of this in advance.
• Mileage and travel time will not be approved for travel to that site during that time.
• Mileage and travel pay are defined by Employee Handbook.
