General Purpose
Fluid Motion Solutions (FMS) an Aftermarket Division of National Oilwell Varco is a leading supplier of engineered equipment and systems for critical applications in global energy, industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, and Oil and Gas markets.
The company has an immediate need for a highly professional Technical Sales Specialist at our Dayton, Ohio location, that primarily serves the NOV FMS product line with a focus on Chemineer products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary technical and commercial support to our sales representatives, customers, and field sales force and all internal customers.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring that NOV FMS can meet its sales and profit objectives. The Technical Sales Specialist must be proficient in the mechanical design, selection, and optimization of all NOV FMS equipment and must be able to troubleshoot failures and breakdowns and provide solutions to support our customer’s reliability improvement efforts.
Position will be officed in the Dayton OH manufacturing facility.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have The Ability To
- Upon request for quote of aftermarket part(s) from sales representative, the Technical Sales Specialist must provide accurate and timely quote(s).
- Assist the sales representatives and customers with technical expertise and complete mechanical understanding of rotating agitators and other NOV FMS products.
- For customer equipment breakdowns or system failures, provide recommendations for replacement parts and long-term solutions with a HIGH SENSE OF URGENCY.
- Assist customers with spare part inventory planning and contingency plans for emergency situations.
- Assist other departments and locations within NOV FMS Aftermarket division as needed to support order processing, field service, mechanical engineering, procurement, and engineering / design.
- Identify opportunities for improving processes using Lean tools.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of inside sales experience.
- We are searching for a candidate with an associate degree in a technical-related field such as Engineering Technology, Science, etc. or equivalent - preferred.
industrial experience. Background in machine shop or service departments is a plus.
- Ability to communicate technical information and concepts in various formats is required.
- The successful candidate for this position will have a customer centric focus with an emphasis on proactive sales efforts with a high degree of urgency.
- Additional requirements are strong problem-solving skills, advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
Exceptional Organization Skills, And JDE Experience Is a Plus.
- Experience with rotating equipment and / or industrial equipment / parts sales and service preferred.
- Ability to read engineering drawings is a must.
