We are looking for a highly motivated and strong working professional to join our team as Tax Analyst The primary responsibilities for this role are mainly related to sales taxes setup and compliance and secondary to the assistance and coordination of external tax advisors for corporate income tax and other non-income tax aspects.
The newly hired person will be inserted in our dynamic Finance team, he / she will be constantly in contact with HQ Tax Department located in Italy and he / she will have the opportunity to boost his / her career thanks to the level of expected autonomy and the opportunity to range among several tax matters.
We do not limit and appreciate the curiosity and desire to gradually deal with increasingly stimulating tax topics.
Role and responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain the proper settings of sales tax tool (Avalara)
- Prepare and manage sales tax returns ensuring reconciliation to accounting records, accuracy and timely filings
- Provide support to external tax consultant for year-end tax provision (current & deferral) as well as for Tax returns purposes (federal / state)
- Prepare work papers to support quarterly tax provision (current & deferred) and estimated tax payments due
- Gather supporting data for responding to various federal and state taxing authority notices and audits
- Verify account balances by performing reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts
- Conduct tax research to resolve tax issues and assess tax implications, as well as to provide assistance with special projects.
Requirements & Skills :
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is not a requirement but appreciated.
- 3 to 5 years of federal and multi-state sales & corporate income tax experience preferably with an international accounting firm.
Experience must include :
- Sales & use tax compliance
- Preparing or at least reviewing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations for federal and multi-state jurisdictions.
- Preparing or at least reviewing state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and partnerships based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities.
- Strong knowledge of US indirect and direct tax concepts and related compliance / regulations and experience in their application;
- strong working knowledge of and ability to apply accounting concepts; knowledge of sales tax return software and tax research databases;
corporate income tax return preparation software is considered a plus.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of data.
- Computer skills : proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, some knowledge of SAP / S4 and Avalara tools.
- Sound analytical skills to create highly detailed tax reports and accurately fill out tax forms.
- A high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking ability.
- Excellent in communicating both verbally and in writing.
