- The Senior Accountant will complete a variety of accounting-related tasks including assisting with the coordination and oversight of accounting functions for all related companies;
- assisting with month-end balance sheet reconciliations and associated journal entries relative to the accounting, accruals, and account analysis for all companies;
and special projects. The Corporate Accountant will support the Corporate Finance Function in designated general accounting functions for reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Maintain daily treasury reporting as well as other daily tactical items.
- Oversee the general ledger and maintain chart of accounts.
- Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management.
- Assist with external auditors during annual audits. Financial and non-financial such as 401K and workers compensation audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Streamline financial procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Implement and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Work closely with other departments including the divisional controllers to provide financial expertise and support decision-making
- Collaborate with the finance team on special projects and initiatives.
- Work with both AP and AR technicians.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
- Proven 3-5 year experience as a Senior Staff Accountant or similar role in industry or a public accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and GAAP.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of sales and use tax
- 401K administration, testing etc.
- Managing and processing payroll
