Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and management of technical documentation for utility scale BESS projects encompassing conceptual and detailed design, specifications, and studies.
- Produce thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
- Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of work activities with other multi-discipline project team members.
- Accountable to provide design activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards, policies, and procedures.
- Elaborate Design and Verification Plans and Reports and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
- Supporting business planning and development.
- Interface with internal stakeholders, eg. project managers, product engineers, sales team, and external stakeholders, contractors, end customers, to ensure project success
- Work with team members to procure electrical subcomponents such as inverters, EMS, FACP, safety subsystems, cabling, and more.
- Work with team members to submit design and progress reports for grant projects
- Collaborate closely with software, electronics, mechanical, and other engineering teams.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, coordinating tasks to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Track issues and drive root cause identification and resolution with cross-functional teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for enhanced efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical , Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering required
- 3+ years experience working with battery energy storage and battery management systems (BMS)
- 1+ years Power electronics design experience
- Working knowledge of BESS standards and UL codes
- Experience with programming languages, Modbus and SCADA systems
