Material Handler

Job Title : Material Handling Specialist

Broad Function : This position is responsible for the receiving, shipping, and handling of all materials. It includes the recording, tracking, and control of all materials through the inventory management system.

Qualification Requirements :

• High school graduate (or equivalent).
• At least one year of related stockroom experience, including powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to team with other Client members in a cooperative and friendly manner.
• Creative problem solver.

Principal Responsibilities :

Receiving and Handling :

• Manage all inbound and outbound materials, including the preparation, filing, and distribution of all appropriate documentation in an organized and efficient manner.
• Identify materials upon receipt without packing lists supplied with shipment.
• Safely offload (indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions) and transport large items without COG information or pick plan provided.
• Understand the subcontractor flow process to effectively receive subcontracted POs to ensure proper material consumption.
• Upon physical receipt at the dock, determine which PO lines were previously received in SAP for POC vs items to receive in SAP.

Shipping :

Safely tarp and load prime units on trucks for shipment.

Handling :

Operate all PIT equipment and safely load / unload all materials up to 50,000 lbs inside or out in all weather conditions.

Organizing :

Review the condition of all pallets containing material and repalletize as needed.

Inventory Management :

Ensure material is correctly identified and placed in its proper location designated in the automated inventory storage system and / or the storage racks.

Aftermarket Orders :

• Maintain a list of all open sales orders.
• Monitor the status of every WO for each SO and pick to production when all materials are available.

Kan-ban System :

• Coordinate and manage the material inventory levels through the Kan-ban system ( 3,400 items) in all areas necessary to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained.
• Ensure material receiving and receiver documentation reconciliation with the purchase order and / or stockroom location.
• Interface with other functions (i.e., Production, Service, Planning, Purchasing) to ensure timely and accurate distribution of production inventory.
