TheTechnology Learning Assistant fosters an engaging usercenteredenvironment while assisting Library customers and staff with bothpersonal and library equipment and technologies in the library.
TheTechnology Learning Assistant provides technical expertise andassistance with the ongoing development and improvement of theDigital Recording Studio services supports the maintenance andpromotion of the Library of Things collections and thelibrary’s public computers and business machinery (faxesscanners copiers etc).
This positionrequires good organizational and communication skills and theflexibility and training to move from task to task in a teamenvironment.
The hoursfor this position are Mondays through Thursdays4 : 00pm9 : 00pm.
Theschedule is based on the needs of the library and could change ifand when needed. The hourly rate range for this position is $19.
81 $24.76; based on skillsandqualifications.

EssentialDuties & Responsibilities
- Provides instructional guidance for patronsindividually and in groups designed to showcase and support Libraryof Things collections and the Digital Studio services andequipment.
- Participate in Outreach activities classesand programs demonstrating Library of Things collections and theDigital Studio services and equipment.
- Provides 1 : 1 instructional guidance andsupport for library and personal technologies and equipment in thelibrary.
- Attendsstaff meetings and participates in other committee meetings asneeded.
- Maintain andtroubleshoot Library of Things collections & equipment.
- Cultivate anatmosphere conducive to learning creating andexploring.
RequiredQualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency and comfort with avariety of hardware and software products.
- Comfortable with a handson approachparticularly an ability to improvise with audiences of varied agesthe use of hand tools electronics computer software hardware andvarious other technologies.
- Demonstrated ability in physical computinghardware and software video and audio production and desktopfabrication.
- Abilityto work with colleagues in other departments cooperativelyproductively andpositively.
SkillsandCompetencies
- Experience with 3D modeling renderingprinting audiovisual equipment and software laser cutters and othercreative technology tools.
- Proficiency with a variety of technologyincluding Windows and IOS platforms Microsoft Office and mobiledevices.
- Ability toperform information searches and demonstrate proficiency injobrelated software.
- Ability to educate and encourage advocacy forthe library.
- Abilityto work effectively with diversepopulations.
Education&Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalentknowledge and skill in areas related to the responsibilities of theposition.
- Customer service experience isrequired.
- Experience with a networked computer systemis preferred.
- Knowledge of basic library organizationpreferred
