Summary

The Kitchen American Bistro will soon be opening its doors to the Austin Community! The Kitchen Bistro is a community gathering spot featuring a seasonal menu and shared plates set in a modern, rustic atmosphere.

Located on the corner of 6th and Guadalupe, The Kitchen will be positioned in the heart of the vibrant, downtown Austin community.

Bartender

Salary : $2.13 per hour plus tips

  • Service aspects include guest relations, and the ability to perform objectives in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on quality, while always maintaining an environment of hospitality.
  • Take drink orders from patrons or servers and prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes.

Mix ingredients for cocktails and serve wine and beer.

  • Take food orders and serve guests who dine at the bar and tables when necessary.
  • Process collect and handle payments.
  • Responsible for setup, maintenance, and operation of the bar including washing, sterilizing, and polishing glassware and instruments.

Assist with proper opening and closing of the restaurant.

Server

Salary : $2.13 per hour plus tips

  • Possess an innate desire to provide superior service and keep your guests' experience at the forefront. Logic, drive, and a genuine love of people are necessities.
  • Excellent communication skills. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the menu, inform customers of food preparation details, and promote specials.

Be able to discuss dietary restrictions and make appropriate recommendations.

Prepare tables, serve food, and refill drinks. Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure all orders are delivered on time.

Ensure the accuracy of every order.

  • Always delivering an experience of warm, relaxed hospitality.
  • Demonstrate superior organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Ability to manage expectations from multiple tables, rooms, or sections simultaneously.
  • Perform side work, setup, and assist with proper opening and closing of the restaurant.
  • Knowledge of beverages and assistance with beverage selection; interest in learning more about pairings.

Server Assistant

Salary : $2.13 per hour plus tips

  • Service aspects include guest relations, and the ability to perform objectives in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on quality, while always maintaining an environment of hospitality.
  • Keen attention to detail; fully engaged in serving the team and striving to provide a superior level of service; model and promote teamwork.
  • Desire to support a team in all capacities during service including performing skills and responsibilities of a server assistant, busser, food runner, etc.

This may include greeting tables, providing water, and coordinating the timing and delivery of each course for each table.

  • Assist with side work and proper opening and closing of the restaurant.
  • Exemplify hospitality and conscientiousness in all interactions with guests, vendors, and the community.

Host

Salary : $15.00-$20.00 per hour plus tips

  • As the first and last point of contact for our guests, hosts are the face of the restaurant and must represent the restaurant’s culture, demonstrate genuine hospitality, and provide exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to think on your toes, make adjustments / decisions quickly, and constantly keep your guests' experience at the forefront.

Logic, drive, and a genuine love of people are necessities.

  • Managing phone lines, taking reservations according to procedures, managing the online reservation and table management platform all while delivering excellent hospitality.
  • Greet guests, escort them to tables, and provide menus. Exhibit a patient, understanding nature and gracefully manage pressure from guests and staff simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate superior organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Strategically coordinate seating in the dining room.
  • Maintain communication with the kitchen and management regarding the status of the floor and books.
  • Perform side work, setup, and assist with proper opening and closing of the restaurant.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Applicants should have experience in a similar fine-dining establishment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Love for service and the hospitality industry.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level.
  • Working with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment as well as operating office equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;

reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk.

  • May be required to work in very warm or cold conditions for an extended period of time.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 45 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
