Your Opportunity
The Finance / Accounting team is seeking out driven, detail-oriented professionals to exercise GAAP principles while preserving the superior financial standing of our company.
These personnel examine data for accurate pricing in Customer Finance, reconcile / manage invoices as an Accounting Coordinator, or scrutinize the company’s state / federal income tax data in Corporate Tax.
The Analyst will be responsible for all transportation, warehouse and inventory related transactions.
Salary Range : $72,000 - $106,150

Core Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and distribute monthly financial reports for the transportation and warehousing division of Smithfield Foods.
- Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
- Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plan and forecast.
- Identifies projects which require financial or strategic analysis or improvement projects which need financial measurements.
- Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
- Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods.
- Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned functional areas.
- Take lead role in creating the budget, forecast and long-term planning.
- Assist as needed with developing new and improved tools, workflow and operational initiatives including performing invoice and payment reporting & processing.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Assist in developing management reports through functional knowledge of the following systems : SAP BI, SAP BPC & SAP General Ledger.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and potential assignment to special studies / teams to assist management in evaluating key opportunities for the company.
- Compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal reporting requirements.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Economics and 3+ years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis; required.
- Prior accounting / GAAP knowledge.
- Experience in CPG industry is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & Access).
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
