SMX is seeking a Project Manager (Mid-Level) to work as part of an integrated Program Management Office (PMO) for the $1B+ Monitoring, Analysis, Reconnaissance, Logistics, Intelligence, and Network Services (MARLINS) contract in the Mission Solutions Group (MSG) of SMX.
The PM supports day-to-day operations of assigned projects and is responsible for project cost, schedule, and scope and includes management of deliverables and issue resolution.
Projects within new contract vary across the defense services C4ISR spectrum. The PM serves as the liaison with the government points of contact as directed by the Contract Manager and reports to a Lead Program Manager.
This position will be remote / telework with travel to customer designated sites as required.
This position requires a DoD secret security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct project management for individually assigned project(s)
- SMX POC to answer customer RFIs
- Executes and monitors project activities
- Manages changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work
- Prepares and updates project plans, status reports, and lessons learned
- Coordinates cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project
Required Skills / Experience
- Security Clearance : Secret
- Bachelor's degree in technical or business-related discipline
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training with ability to obtain PMP within 1 year or DAWIA Level II
- Experience in developing requirements, evaluating proposals, and overseeing subcontractor performance and compliance
- Understanding of project management principles to effectively manage cost, schedule, and scope
- Able to handle shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills to complete tasks within required timeframes with little to no supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with stakeholders
- Ability to manage project budgets, identify financial issues, and develop Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROMs)
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques and ability to direct improvement initiatives
