Overview

As the Talent Acquisition Partner, you will play a pivotal role in the talent acquisition process within the MercyHealth System.

The TA Partner will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and selecting qualified candidates to meet the Systems staffing needs.

The TAS works closely with hiring leaders to ensure the recruitment process aligns with organization goals and objectives.

The TA Partner is a strategic partner in the organization’s talent acquisition efforts, contributing to the systems’ success by attracting and retaining top talent.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform activities related to the recruitment of qualified staff for all areas of Mercyhealth in accordance with Culture of Excellence;

Quality, Service, Partnering, and Cost, and within Federal and State Regulatory guidelines.

  • Takes the lead on special projects and human resource initiatives related to recruitment efforts.
  • Grows programs in house which may include but not limited to expansion of Youth Apprentice Programs; joins advisory and community boards to attract and retain potential candidates, job shadows in departments responsible for, identify and plan needs for creating tech style in house programs.

Nursing specific TAP’s to identify and grow programs for YAP, SNI, GNT, Clinic MA, LPN and RN student programs.

Conducts ongoing analysis for the departments supported, which includes partnering with leadership on current and future staffing needs or identifying any possible re-organization of departments and physician practices.

Builds strong relationships with assigned leadership and rounds on them regularly for staffing needs. Attends various department meetings for support areas in conjunction with appropriate BP.

  • Compiles reports and analyzes statistical data including turnover, vacancy rate, and selection processes that support recruiting levels.
  • Sourcing candidates in resume and job databases for hard to recruit areas. Cold calls / text campaigns the old applicants for these areas as identified throughout the HRIS systems.
  • Conducts candidate screens and interviews utilizing behavioral interview process.
  • Participates in and coordinates career events and related activities with educational institutions and appropriate organizations to maintain a positive Mercyhealth image and furthers recruitment efforts.

Promotes MercyHealth System as an employer of choice.

  • Develops and utilizes sourcing plans and activities to improve candidate pools.
  • Coordinates hiring process, scheduling for new employees assuring completion of required procedures including physical / drug screen, criminal background check, references, etc.
  • Completes and enters process flows (., transfers, fte / rate changes, adding work assignments, inactivating work assignments, for partners in their areas of recruitment.

Confirms new hire eligibility for appropriate licensure and education.

  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with educational institutions and placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with legal requirements and reducing legal risks pertaining to recruitment and selection of staff.

Adhering to applicable policies as set by Mercyhealth. Completing mandatory in house education and attending local shrm chapter meetings, webinars, conferences or external sources for continued education pertaining to role responsibility.

Attending job fairs as able for recruitment assigned areas. This includes possible school outreach at high school and colleges.

Attending local HOSA meetings and identify workplace trends / needs.

  • Utilized technologies that support the HR function. (ATS, HRIS, HR Products and Vendors)
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with Leadership team members and partners of the system.
  • Provides input to benefit and compensation areas related to recruitment trends and market sensitivity of specific positions.
  • Determines salary recommendations for new and transferring employees following the organization’s compensation guidelines and philosophy.
  • Work with new leaders or staff to assist with any onboarding and training for talent needs. This may include working with or identifying OD needs as related to onboarding and recruitment.
  • Works with partners internally to identify and develop advertising materials for openings. This may include coordination of staff, video’s and other types of media.
  • Consults with other key stakeholders in MercyHealth System on strategies for recruitment. Establish and maintain professional relationships.

Education and Experience

Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required

A minimum of 5 years HR experience required.

Healthcare experience preferred.

Certification and Licensure

Certification in one of the following is preferred :

  • SHRM Certified Professionals (SHRM-CP)
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HR Certification Institute (HRCI)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from HR Certification Institute (HRCI)
  • Certified Healthcare Human Resources (CHHR)
  • Certified Recruiter Lean Human Capital

Skills and Abilities

Good interpretive / analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal / communication skills

May be required to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Some travel may be necessary

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds and up to 25 pounds frequently.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Level of Supervision

Assignments are normally received in the form of results expected and due dates. Only general procedures are available to guide work.
