Overview of the Position : The senior case administrator is a case processing specialist who oversees case administrators in a leadership capacity.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the case administrator’s work assignments are carried out accurately and timely.
The senior case administrator performs relief courtroom deputy functions and / or schedules settlement conferences, including Digital Audio Recording (DAR), and may be required to perform end-of-day reconciliation duties.
The incumbent must serve as backup to the manager in his or her absence. This position requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Provide case administration team members with the necessary guidance, instruction, techniques, and training to maximize their performance and meet performance standards;
- Direct case administrators on specific case administration tasks and procedures;
- Monitor and / or prioritize case administrator’s work to ensure consistency and compliance with performance standards, which may include work redistribution to equalize the division’s caseload;
- Assist with the implementation of new technologies, as well as prepare or update training aids;
- Conduct training, assist in the production of technical manuals, and test new automation functions or procedures;
- Provide feedback on staff performance and appraisals;
- Monitor quality control reports and take corrective measures to ensure that documents and cases are in correct posture;
- Maintain current knowledge of updates for case management protocols, local and Federal Rules, conduct research for internal and external customers regarding case administration discrepancies;
- Foster an environment which encourages building teams for success while maintaining momentum, enthusiasm, and pride;
- Coordinate team schedules, provide coverage for absent team members, and serve relief coverage for Courtroom Deputies and related duties;
- Routinely communicate with members of the public on general inquiries, court processes and procedures, enter corrective actions on the court docket and / or claims register;
- Prepare and forward matters to chambers for review and / or prepare internal form notices and / or orders;
- Transmit and monitor appeals and other bankruptcy proceedings to the U.S. District Court, 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and / or state courts;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To qualify for the CL 26, you must have at least one year of experience working at the CL 25 level. The incumbent must be a team leader who can work harmoniously with the case administration team and judicial staff.
Must be able to define and resolve case problems independently, as well as concisely present this information to the manager.
Must possess good leadership and organizational skills.
Additionally, this position requires the ability to :
- Identify and process complex case matters and take on special assignments, as well as act independently.
- Multitask, solve problems, make decisions, and be a mentor to others.
Desired Qualifications :
- An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with Case Management / Electronic Case Filing (CM / ECF).
- Knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, local rules / forms, and case management knowledge.
