Job Description
The Facilities Operations Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance and operations to ensure efficient production and infrastructure management.
This role involves leadership in managing equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a team of maintenance technicians.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food manufacturing, focusing on driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement in facility operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintenance Management : Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
- Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and conducting performance reviews.
- Facility Operations : Manage day-to-day facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Preventative Maintenance : Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
- Project Management : Oversee facility-related projects, including upgrades, repairs, and installations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Budget Management : Oversee maintenance budgets, including labor, materials, and contracted services.
- Compliance : Ensure all maintenance activities meet food safety and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response : Lead emergency repair and maintenance efforts to minimize downtime.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement opportunities for operational improvements and cost reduction.
Requirements :
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years in a maintenance management role within the food manufacturing industry (pharmaceutical experience may be considered).
- Education : Associate's Degree in a related technical field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills :
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency with maintenance management software and office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements in food manufacturing.
- Good communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Physical Demands : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various conditions, including noise and exposure to chemicals.
- Work Environment : Regular exposure to manufacturing environments, including working near moving mechanical parts and occasionally in outdoor conditions.
