UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine.
Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities
- Administers care to patient population which ranges from neonates to geriatrics.
- Works cooperatively and interdependently with emergency, prehospital, law enforcement, and ancillary personnel while coordinating the emergent and critical care of patients requiring helicopter transportation.
- Markets the Air 1 program and serves as a representative of the department as well as the UT Health East Texas System when involved with a public relations activity and / or marketing activity.
- Understands and supports the UT Health East Texas Mission, Vision, And Values.
- Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Job Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certificate from an accredited EMT / Paramedic program.
- Texas EMT-P certification
- National Registry EMT-P (NREMT-P)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS)
- Certified Flight Paramedic Credential (FP-C) within 6 months of employment. If the Crew member is an RN working in the Paramedic role the CFRN will take the place of the required Certification.
- PALS
- ACLS
- At least three years prehospital experience in a lead paramedic role
