Job Summary :

The On Air Multimedia Producer within OSU Brand Management will develop creative and professional multimedia content that tells OSU’s best stories and showcases its points of distinction to elevate OSU’s brand presence and prominence.

This position will host and produce both live and recorded programming as well as the official podcast for university digital channels including YouTube and Inside OSU, the official video platform of Oklahoma State University.

They will use creative story-telling skills to produce multimedia content that supports goals for the university’s advertising, recruitment, retention and brand-building initiatives.

They will research video content trends and insights to produce relevant stories that engage OSU’s various target audiences.

The On Air Multimedia Producer will work within the Brand Management team, and partner with the OSU video production unit, OSU’s system institutions and academic colleges as well as university departments to conduct interviews, shoot, write and edit engaging multimedia content.

They will publish and distribute content to a variety of platforms and will assist in other aspects of video and audio production as needed.

They will collaborate with the Brand Management team to generate video content ideas that support the strategic marketing and communication plans of the university to its various audiences.

This position will provide direction in carrying out special initiatives as assigned by Brand Management leadership and will assist in supervising student video production employees.

The individual should demonstrate self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking in finding new opportunities to showcase Oklahoma State University.

Additional Responsibilities : The role will include evening and weekend work, but work-life balance is critically important, and schedules will be appropriately adjusted to accommodate.

May have to shoot video and carry equipment in inclement weather. Requires the ability to lift 30 pounds (video equipment).

Driving conditions vary with the weather.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Journalism & Broadcasting, Television Production, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Minimum two years professional experience producing feature video content. On-air experience at a professional broadcast or digital media outlet.

A professional demo reel / portfolio is required as part of the application process.

Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge : Engaging on-camera presence, including ability to host live broadcasts and recorded long-form programming.

Strong interviewing and storytelling skills. Demonstrated proficiency using video and audio equipment such as cameras, tripod, microphones, and lights.

Use of non-linear editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. Demonstrated ability to take multiple projects from concept to completion while meeting stringent deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, project coordination and scheduling skills. Must possess excellent people skills and effectively deal with multiple contacts or stakeholders for projects.

Ability to work cross-functionally with supervisors, unit staff and campus partners to ensure collaborative environment, coordinated efforts and maximized outcomes.

Must learn quickly and demonstrate flexibility in the work environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

Five years professional experience at a professional broadcast or digital media outlet. Experience in long-form or documentary video production.

Working knowledge of live event production.

Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge : Use of Adobe Suite including Premiere Pro and Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Canva and other production software.

Experience producing podcasts. Proficiency using video and audio equipment such as cameras, tripod, microphones and lights.
