Virtual School Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location : Louisiana (Remote)

Job Type : Fulltime, Short Term Contract

Pay : $40 / Hour

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our virtual school network in Louisiana. As a Virtual School OT, you will play a crucial role in providing occupational therapy services to students in an online learning environment.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess students' needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to support their educational goals and overall well-being.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living (ADLs) through virtual platforms.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the student's educational team to gather relevant information and develop personalized intervention plans.
• Provide virtual therapy sessions to students using evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to improve functional abilities and achieve educational objectives.
• Monitor students' progress regularly, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all interventions and outcomes accurately and efficiently.
• Offer guidance and support to teachers and parents on implementing recommended strategies and accommodations to promote students' success in the virtual learning environment.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives related to occupational therapy services.
• Stay current with best practices, trends, and developments in the field of occupational therapy, particularly as they relate to virtual service delivery and educational settings.
• Maintain professional ethics and confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as professional standards of practice.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Louisiana.
• Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting or providing virtual therapy services is preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development, learning theories, and educational frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with students and families remotely.
• Proficiency in using virtual platforms and technology tools for teletherapy sessions and documentation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a virtual work environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to engage in training and continuing education opportunities related to virtual service delivery and educational practices.
