Key / Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Leads and facilitates one (1) or more of YAI’s Family Support group offerings based on interests, availability and qualifications by leading and moderating group discussions with children, adults and / or parents based on specific program curriculum.
Engages with multiple participants with varying levels of verbal abilities and support needs and / or parents of children with I / DD.
Working in partnership with support staff, ensures participation and engagement while maintaining a safe and structured environment.
Conducts person-centered goal setting and regularly monitors and evaluates participant progress through observations.
Provides individual assistance, within a group setting, when needed.
Communicates consistently with supervisor or designee, escalating programmatic concerns and reporting operational issues related to program equipment and facilities.
Engages with families on site pre / post session regarding progress, plans and / or any issues or concerns that arise.
Works with program leadership to identify, develop and / or update and enhance program curriculum according to the evidence-based practice, incorporating new teaching methods and content.
Ensures timely and accurate documentation of services, attendance and billing in compliance with guidelines and regulations and in appropriate format and electronic systems for all documentation related to the program.
Ensures proper facility set up / clean-up for each group session, may assist with room set up as needed.
Remains current with mandatory and other training, successfully completing within required time frames.
Performs all other duties, as assigned.
Schedule :
- Mondays (Kitchen Skills) from 3 : 30-5 : 30pm
- Tuesdays (Yoga Mindfulness) from 4 : 30-6 : 30pm
- Wednesdays (Life Skills) from 4 : 30-6pm.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, training and / or certificate in program related field or as required by program contract; or
A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience.
Yoga Certification is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work independently.
Excellent time management and written communication skills.
Ability to complete room set up, including movement / sliding of tables, chairs and other equipment.
Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred Qualification Requirements
One (1) year experience working with people with I / DD preferred.
Master’s Degree may be required by certain contracts and / or programs.
Compensation : $25 / hr - $25 / hr
