Senior Land Surveyor | Nashua, NH or Burlington, MA

This position can be based in either our Nashua, NH or Burlington, MA office, both part of the Greater Boston Area.

IMEG, one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S., seeks a Senior Surveyor to provide leadership in daily survey operations including construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys. The Senior Surveyor will be responsible for production surveying duties, applying diversified knowledge of land surveying principles and practices, and providing surveying assistance under leadership from a Senior Land Surveyor. This role also involves calculations and surveying judgment based on experience, documented practices, systems, and examples.

Key duties and responsibilities :

• Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys
• Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
• Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping / topographic field reductions in CAD / survey software
• Maintain and verify accuracy of project survey data and manage company standards survey database; review survey production and final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control
• Proficiency with survey computations, staking / control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
• Operate GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment
• Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed
• Advance professional and productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets and mentor and assist in training junior staff members
• Operate a company vehicle
• Observe safety and security procedures
