Join our CRU team beginning March 2025. 80% FTE, day / evening shift. Monday through Friday with a Saturday shift rotation.

Hours are based off the operational needs of the department. You will work at Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI.

Clinical Research Nursing is an exciting specialty on the cutting edge of modern medicine. Through research and collaboration with partners across the state, country and even the world, patients have access to new and novel treatments and interventions that can improve their lives and the lives of others.

The Clinical Research Unit mission is to create a research unit that provides participant and family centered care, demonstrates exemplary professional practice, and provides quality data and research resources.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to :

  • Join a team of REMARKABLE nurses to care for patients in the Outpatient Clinical Research Unit - a 14-bed dedicated research facility at Eastpark Medical Center that serves both investigator-initiated and industry studies.
  • Care for adult outpatients participating in research studies across multiple disciplines; primarily hematology / oncology.
  • Provide direct patient care to patients. Administer chemotherapy and novel treatments to patients, obtain vitals, perform venipuncture and be trained to process lab samples on the clinical research unit, access central lines and ports, and perform head to toe assessments.
  • Assist with research study protocol implementation.
  • Become a member of the Clinical Research Unit Council and discover opportunities for professional development and leadership.
  • Please note this position will begin March 2025.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 6 months of relevant clinical nursing experience Required
  • Specific to EP Lab- Previous moderate sedation experience Required
  • Additional years of relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred
  • Prior involvement in clinical procedures in area of specialty, including successful work or involvement in other hospital-wide project work Preferred
  • Experience in an academic medical setting Preferred
  • Specific to Gastro / Endo & Generations - Previous moderate sedation experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support / CPR Upon Hire Required
  • Certification in area of specialty Preferred

Eastpark Medical Center - UW Health's new state-of-the-art ambulatory facility will transform the patient experience and offer cutting-edge proton therapy.

This 469,000-square-foot ambulatory facility will house many specialties, including women's complex care, adult cancer care, advanced imaging and laboratory services and innovative clinical trials.

It will be located across from East Madison Hospital on Eastpark Dr. and is slated to open in fall 2024.
