About Us
As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet.
Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments.

We Require
Three years of commercial locksmith experience
High school diploma or GED
Completion of an industry-recognized locksmith apprenticeship program may substitute for up to two years of the experience requirement
Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
We Also Value
Experience as a locksmith in a correctional facility
Four years of experience as a journey-level commercial locksmith
Experience with Maximo or related project management software products
Job Contributions
Maintain the installation and repair of door locking hardware and closures, electronic door systems, door frames, hinges, doors, panic hardware, mortise locks, and ADA hardware
Perform preventative maintenance of all mechanical and electronic-based access control hardware and equipment
Repair and install different types of detention-locking security hardware
Create and maintain master keying systems for detention and commercial applications (set-up and re-keying, duplication, and cut-to-code)
Respond to repair and service calls during and after work hours
Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory, work assignments, and other related functions

Working Conditions
Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations.
Position is subject to atmospheric conditions : Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
Protective Equipment Required
Must be capable of using various forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to fulfill the requirements of the position
Special working environments include but are not limited to
Adult and juvenile detention facilities; medical facilities, both detention and public health; forensics; courts; related justice facilities
This position may require a rotating on-call / stand-by schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
