Job Title : Asset Manager, Special Assets

Job Description Summary :

  • Completes and reviews investment reviews of assets including formulating investment recommendations, determining valuations for fee purposes, and determining whether a market exists for the asset.
  • Makes recommendations to the appropriate management committees regarding the suitability of retaining the asset.
  • Screens new business assets for Acceptance Committees providing recommendations regarding acceptance of the asset.
  • Examines documents including will, trust agreement, etc. to determine duties and responsibilities for asset.
  • Manages asset looking at current ownership structure, financial statements, business operations, insurance and other important matters associated with the assets.
  • Monitors newly assigned assets to assure that they are placed on record, coded correctly and valued appropriately.
  • Works closely with and responds promptly to partners in various areas with respect to the management and / or sale of the asset.
  • Completes administrative functions as needed or requested.
  • Assists with the resolution of any outstanding issues related to the asset within reasonable or agreed upon time frames.
  • Oversees in conjunction with co-fiduciaries, partners and outside owners the sale or distribution of the asset where appropriate.
  • Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and / or internal business impact.
  • May have direct interaction with committees and / or Senior Management.
  • Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees.

Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of the types of assets to be managed usually acquired through related work experience or four year degree program.
  • Analytical, organizational and communication skills are required to effectively manage, review and / or sell the various types of assets.

Experience :

A College or University degree and 3-5 years of proven work experience is preferred.
