JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a Director of Sustainability to join our team in Buffalo, New York. As the Director of Sustainability, you will be responsible for supporting the company’s environmental sustainability strategy and driving initiatives with a positive impact focused on responsible sourcing, waste management, energy and emissions reduction, water conservation, and the built environment.

Minimum Anticipated Maximum Base Salary : $81900 - $110600 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.

The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position.

Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sustainability department to identify, plan, and implement projects aligning with the company's environmental strategy, ensuring they bring value to the environment, society, and business
  • Understand environmental regulations and contractual requirements, supporting their implementation across operations and conducting evaluations for compliance with local, state, federal, and contract standards
  • Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, reporting on performance, and contributing to inspirational sustainability storytelling to showcase progress
  • Provide training and educational programs to raise team awareness and promote sustainability, while offering expertise to business development efforts to strategically grow the company
  • Stay informed of sustainability trends, conducting research to identify opportunities and risks, and participating in budget analysis to evaluate financial impacts of environmental sustainability projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in sustainability or a related field such as environmental science, sustainability management, or corporate sustainability
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, corporate sustainability, or a related field
  • 2+ years of management experience required
  • Credentials such as LEED, TRUE, ISSP and other sustainability related professional development are preferred
  • Leadership skills with a passion for sustainability
  • Adept Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, and familiarity with cloud-based software systems
