We leadthe region in da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery and offers avariety of specialty care services including medical imaging,rehabilitation, hospice, women’s services and more.
Responsibilities :
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUSCompetencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader ofLeaders.
- Perform a variety of mammographic proceduresusing independent judgment to provide quality patient care whileconsistently displaying outstanding judgment in film critique.
- Operate a variety of radiographic and supportequipment, including radiographic, mammographic, ultrasound,stereotactic breast biopsy machines as well as support equipment.
Must also operate a variety of mobile radiographic and fluoroscopicequipment on an as needed basis.
- Protects patientsfrom undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and varioussafety factors.
- Selects the proper film size,collimate and positions equipment at the proper distance and angleto patient's body to produce a clear, undistorted, diagnosticradiograph.
- Assists the radiologist in performing andproducing a variety of fluoroscopic procedures by setting theproper required radiographic technique factors on the equipment,preparing and administering the appropriate opaque media andpositioning the patient for the various exposures needed tocomplete the procedure.
- Is responsible for themaintenance of mammography equipment and components; replacement ofemergency trays and supplies as needed.
Makes sure supplies arealways on hand for Mammographic Screening, Diagnostic and Surgicalprocedures.
- Identifies abnormal anatomy andpathologic processes in assessing patients for the appropriateprocedures.
- Maintains Quality Control / QualityAssurance in accordance with MQSA programs and ACR, FDA and TDHstandards and regulations.
Assures that all documentation isaccurately recorded and kept in an organized manner susceptible toinstant inspection if needed.
- Demonstrates competenceto perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner thatmeets the population- specific and developmental needs of patientsserved by the department.
- Appropriately adaptsassigned patient assessment, treatment and / or care methods toaccommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural,age-specific and other developmental needs of each patientserved.
- Demonstrates adherence to the CORE VALUES ofCHRISTUS Health
- Performs other duties asassigned.
Requirements :
- Graduate of an accredited school of RadiologyTechnology or other accepted and approved equivalentrequired
- 1 to 3 years of experience inDiagnostic Radiology preferred
- 1year experience in Mammography
- Registered byThe American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiographyand Mammography required
- Currentstate licensure required
- Current BLS (AmericanHeart Association) required
