Position : Caregiver Crisis Respite 1181

Program : Amarillo, Texas IDD Crisis Respite

Salary : $15.66 / hr.

Shift available : Full-time (Monday - Friday from 10 pm - 6 am; rotating days off)

Essential duties and responsibilities of the Caregiver :

• Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
• The Caregiver performs direct care for consumers diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD) in a residential setting
• Responsibilities will include transporting, preparations of meals, feedings, bathing, toileting, medication administration, maintaining a safe and clean environment and other duties associated with daily living
• Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and / or business standards defined in the code are compromised

Required qualifications of the Caregiver to be successful in the job :

• High school diploma or GED
• One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of work experience assisting in therapeutic activities
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications of the Caregiver to be successful in the job :

Some experience working with individuals with IDD diagnoses
