Job Description : Sheet Metal Roofing Installer

Position Summary : We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Roofing Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the installation, repair, and maintenance of sheet metal roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

They should have strong knowledge of roofing techniques, tools, and safety standards, and be comfortable working in various weather conditions and at heights.

A commitment to quality workmanship, precision, and safety is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install Sheet Metal Roofing : Measure, cut, shape, and install sheet metal roofing materials, including standing seam, metal shingles, and corrugated metal panels, ensuring watertight and structurally sound installations.
• Inspect and Repair Roofs : Evaluate roof conditions, identify areas needing repair, and perform necessary maintenance on metal roofs to extend their lifespan.
• Read and Interpret Blueprints : Follow project blueprints, specifications, and work orders to accurately install sheet metal roofing in alignment with design plans.
• Seal and Weatherproof Roofs : Apply proper sealing techniques to prevent leaks and ensure durability, especially around penetrations like vents, chimneys, and skylights.
• Use and Maintain Roofing Tools and Equipment : Operate specialized tools and machinery safely, including snips, shears, brakes, and seamers.
• Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards : Adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection measures.
• Work with Team Members : Collaborate with other crew members and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

Qualifications :

• Education and Experience :
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school certification in roofing or sheet metal work preferred.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in sheet metal roofing installation or a similar field.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in working with various types of sheet metal roofing materials, including aluminum, steel, copper, and zinc.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain sheet metal roofing tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of building codes, roofing standards, and safety regulations.
• Physical Requirements :
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in various weather conditions.
• Stamina to perform physical labor for extended periods.
