Position Overview
Navistar has a great opportunity for a Supply Chain Industrial Engineer in our Springfield, Ohio facility.
Responsibilities
- Deployment of Lean Material Flow strategies at the plant and supporting warehouse
- Establish and maintain time studies for plant specific materials team members
- Establish and maintain standard work instructions for plant specific materials team members
- Provide Industrial Engineering analysis on cost improvement initiatives
- Ownership of layouts for supply chain managed footprints
- Support and track Lean Assessments and Value Stream Mapping sessions
- Define local CIR's, gap closure plans and project plans based off of plant Supply Chain Engineer's findings through project management functions
- Develop / maintain 5S, KPI programs for supporting warehouse(s)
- Monitor plant / warehouse Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)and implement corrective actions for KPIs that fall below allowable thresholds
- Identification, participation from IE perspective, and implementation of cost savings and waste elimination initiatives
- Ideal Warehouse and Replenishment up keep and validation at WHQ level
- Interface with PFEP / Containers team for part planning accuracy, compliance and feedback
- Support plant Supply Chain Engineers and 3PL providers as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
- Master's degree
- At least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
- At least 7 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
Additional Requirements

Desired Skills
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent field, or equivalent experience in the field
- Experience in Industrial Engineering or related area
- Experience in establishing and maintaining time studies
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarization with a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with / in Union environment
- Knowledge of Logistics and Transportation processes preferred
- Lean and / or Sig Sigma training
- Experience with project design, execution and sustainment
- Experience conducting VSM and Kiazan sessions
- Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Hands on knowledge of WMS, YMS, and TMS systems
