Pathology Assistant

Overview :

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Pathology Assistant to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi and North Central Bronx.

The Hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Responsibilities :

Prosection of biopsies from all tissue sites

Performance of autopsies as needed

Prosection of specimens requiring simple and complex dissection, selection of sections for analyses to fulfill all CAP requirements for the specific tissue evaluations

Provide appropriate dictation to fulfill all CAP requirements for the specific tissue evaluations.

When necessary produce labeled cassettes and slides

Be capable of preparing frozen section slides including prosection, cryostat sectioning and routine staining

Be capable of providing gross photographic pictures

Pursue required CME's for the incumbents certification Maintain a clean orderly gross station

Qualifications : NYSDOH License

NYSDOH License

American Society of Clinical Pathologists License (ASCP) - PA License

Graduation or near graduation from an accredited Pathologist Assistant Program
